Pelling town has emerged as the second biggest tourist destination in
the state after Gangtok. It is about 10 kms from District Headquarter,
Gyalshing and provides easy access to tourist spots in the area. The
town itself is small, having a road lined with hotels but the
breathtaking view of the Khangchendzonga and surrounding ranges it
offers is its major advantage. It is also a perfect place for nature
walks and small treks. This all season tourist destination has hotels
and resorts suitable for all budgets. Every year, Pelling organises the
Khangchendzonga Festival. A host of adventure activities like whitewater
rafting on the Rangeet, kayaking, trekking and mountain biking can be
enjoyed here along with sightseeing, traditional sports and bird
watching. Flower exhibitions, folk dances and music, traditional crafts,
ethnic food and costume stalls are also part of the festival. The
festival is aimed at exhibiting diverse aspects of the area to encourage
tourism.Get Holidays to Sikkim package in very affordable price.
